Stanley Kubrick's final film is not one that everyone will enjoy. In fact I don't know if he intended for anyone to actually 'enjoy' it. All his films have been very thought provoking.
It is a bizarre, surreal and haunting psychosexual drama about a New York doctor who embarks on a journey of sexual exploration after his wife confesses to having sexual feelings about another man.

In the film the doctor eventually makes his way into a large mansion used by a secret society 'club', and this is where the East Anglia location comes in. The interior of the club with its exotic eastern architecture was filmed at Elveden Hall in Suffolk. The Hall is not open to the public.
